Vegas, Baby!

It’s been a week since I have been in Las Vegas, but I have been on vacation and completely off the grid. I loved every second of it. We can talk about Isle of Palms a different time, but now here are some pictures of my time in Vegas.

The reason I went to Las Vegas was for the RightOnline conference AFP Foundation puts on every year. Yes, my first business trip just so happened to be in Sin City. It was the bomb.

The conference was great, and we didn’t really get to do anything “Vegas like” until after it ended on Saturday night. I am pretty sure we all squeezed three nights of fun into one great night. I had an absolute blast.

I won’t go into detail on everything that happened that night… you know the saying, “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” I plead the fifth.

But I will show you pictures!

My cab picked me up from my house at 3:45am, and I was actually up ready for my sunrise excursion. I got to the airport so early that the security line wasn’t even open yet. My flight wasn’t until 5:45am, but I am PARANOID about missing a flight. I would rather show up crazy early and read or get breakfast than be running through the airport barely making it. It’s best to prevent those panic attacks.

Slots! Slots! Slots!

You know you’re in Vegas when there is glitter on your cupcakes!
If you want to see any pictures from RightOnline go to AFP Foundations Flickr. I don’t want to post them on my blog. (That is for you Mimi.)

I didn’t take any pictures of the shenanigans on Saturday, because I was too busy having fun to worry about taking pictures. We went to an in hotel bar, The Bourbon Room, that was based off the play/movie Rock of Ages. It was all 80′s music. You better believe I was singing and dancing my 1989 baby butt off. {{another good reason there are no pictures.}}

Sunday I spentĀ recovering relaxing by the pool and touring the strip with a family friend.

I didn’t want to do much in Vegas, but one of my MUST DO’s was to see the Bellagio Fountains.

Check.
I brought my DSLR along for the ride, but when I pulled it out to take pictures, I realized that I forgot to put the battery back in it that I charged all night! Slap forehead. Thank goodness for Instagram. (Follow me! @kagarlow)

Little did I know that the Bellagio also had gardens on the inside! They were gorgeous! I was really slapping forehead when I walked in here without my camera.

{{above is my favorite picture of the entire trip.}}

Then. I did the best thing ever.

I went to the Pawn Stars pawn shop. It was hands down my FAVORITE thing about the entire trip. Can you tell I love Pawn Stars? Chumlee is totally my favorite. I was so excited. I had to hold myself back from running to the front door. I am so stupid, but really. If people weren’t there, and I wasn’t in my bathing suit coverup being judged, I would have made a dead sprint to the door.

Sadly, I did not get to meet Chumlee. I did see some of the employees that have been on the show though! They had tags that said “As Seen on Pawn Stars” by the items featured on the show. My first thought was, “they should really get me to rewrite those cards, that persons handwriting sucks,” and then I thought, “OMG THIS IS SO COOL!”

I got myself a little treat!

I plan on taking it to work and drinking out of it everyday.

After my fun-filled 4 days in Vegas I made my way back to the airport, through the slowest security line known to man, and took off at 10:45 headed for Charleston, SC. Note to self: You do not like red-eye flights. BUT you do LOVE the new neck pillow you bought.

Seriously. If you fly, but a neck pillow. Glory, Hallelujah, sleep. I slept with my feet propped up on the edge of the arm rest in front of me, and pretty sure I woke up half snuggling with the man in the middle seat. Sorry, I’m not sorry.
